Before we dive in, let me ask you something:
Are you really aware of how your storefront performs behind the scenes?
If the answer is "well... kind of," then you need to know about a powerful tool in Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud that most developers completely ignore. Or simply don’t have access to.
It’s called Reports & Dashboards, and it’s not some fluffy marketing graph collection.
This tool is capable of revealing the ugly truth behind your slow pages, your failing cache strategy, and your overloaded controllers.
You can find it in two ways:
Through a direct URL (ask your admin nicely)
Or go into Business Manager → Merchant Tools → select your site → Analytics → Reports & Dashboards
Now comes the fun part. You might get in with no issue, or you’ll hit a wall.
Permission Denied
Why? Because your user doesn’t have the proper rights in Account Manager. And that’s no accident.
See, this tool doesn’t just show cache stats and technical metrics. It also displays sensitive business data. Sales performance, top-selling products, revenue, promo effectiveness… The kind of stuff that might make your boss nervous if you saw it.
But here's the thing. You don’t need all that.
You just want to get into the Technical tab.
That’s where the magic happens.
There you’ll find charts and insights about:
Cache hit ratio (Salesforce recommends 70 percent or higher)
Uncached requests and how to track them
API response times (OCAPI, SCAPI, custom controllers…)
Bottlenecks caused by heavy scripts, nested loops or inefficient controllers
And yes, you can filter by:
Time ranges: last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or custom
Method types: GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE
Resources: endpoints and APIs
This isn’t about monitoring for the sake of monitoring.
It’s about fixing what’s broken. Or at least spotting it before it explodes.
You’ll be surprised by how many requests are not cached. Or which of your endpoints are dragging your whole site down.
This tool will make you a better developer
And maybe even the hero that saves your next release.
So if you don’t have access yet, ask for it.
And if they say no, ask louder.
If you enjoy this kind of content and want to stay sharp in the world of Salesforce B2C Commerce, don’t miss a thing.
