Before we dive in, let me ask you this.

Have you ever wasted 30 minutes looking for a piece of content in Business Manager just to figure out which slot was showing that damn banner?
If yes, welcome to the club. If not, congrats — you’re probably lying.

Let’s talk about a little-known tool in Salesforce Commerce Cloud that could save merchants and developers a lot of time and headaches: the Toolkit.

Yes, it's there. Built-in. And no one talks about it.

You’ll find it in Business Manager under Merchant Tools. Once there, pick your site and look on the left sidebar — you'll see an option called Toolkit.

Click it. Boom. You’re redirected to your storefront with a slick Salesforce-injected toolbar at the top. That toolbar is your new best friend.

👉 But wait: don’t use aliases if you want it to work. Stick to the full commercecloud.salesforce.com URL or it might break.

Let’s break down what each icon in the toolbar actually does:

🔍 Page Info
As you scroll down your storefront, you’ll see overlays telling you what’s what — slots, templates, controllers, ISML files.
Perfect for developers, but also helpful for merchants who want to know exactly where stuff comes from.

🧩 Content Info
Ever tried to find out which content asset is behind a banner? Yeah. Nightmare.
Now? Just scroll over it and click Edit Content Slot in Business Manager. It’s like a GPS for your content.

🔎 Search Tool
Because sometimes, you just need to look up something without navigating through 50 menus. No explanation needed.

🧠 Cache Info
Here’s where things get spicy. It overlays your site with green (cached) and red (uncached) blocks.
You can even click and get cache expiration data and remote includes info. Pure gold if you care about performance (and you should).

📄 Log Viewer
Instead of digging into Log Center, get real-time logs for the specific page you're viewing. Ideal for debugging things on the fly.

🎛️ Site Preview Settings
This one’s for all the merchants. You can simulate how the site looks for specific customer groups, date ranges, A/B tests, and more.
Planning a future promo? Want to test VIP-only banners? Do it all here.
