Ok, this time let’s talk about performance. I mean real performance. Speed. You know that question we all have at some point? How fast is our production instance compared to the others? Like, Dev, Staging... even Sandbox.Remember, we’ve got 3 types of Sandboxes, each one with more power than the last.Well, let me tell you what happened to us recently. It wasn’t just a test, it was something we had to do for real, to get ready for go live.We had to migrate users from the old website to the new one. Around 300,000 users. Yep, you read that right. Three hundred thousand. With addresses too. So we’re talking about customer profiles, with one, two, sometimes even three addresses in the address book.Ofc, we did some tests in Sandbox. But never with the full file. So we thought, let’s go all in. We spun up one of the biggest Sandboxes available in Control Center, the XL one.We ran the full import — all 300k records. It took 3 hours and 20 mins. Now… wanna guess how long it took in Production? No cheating, don’t scroll, come on, drop your guess in the comments.Alright, ready?Same exact data, same volume, same process. In Production? Took 50 mins.So yeah. Now you get a sense of how much more powerful the Production instance is. Even compared to a big fat XL Sandbox.Hope this helps you when planning similar stuff. Real numbers, real experience.Catch you later.

We pushed 300,000 users into SFCC. Sandbox took 3h 20min. Production? Just 50 minutes. Wanna see the real power difference?

Sandbox vs Production: The Speed Test You’ve Been Waiting For

Everyone says Production is faster. But how much faster, really? We ran a real test. 300,000 users. Same data, same script. One in a Sandbox XL, the other in Production. The result? Let’s just say… you’re gonna wanna see the numbers.
